One of the ways the Featherweight Club supports the Mums and Dads with babies in hospital is by organising gifts and mementos to mark special occasions such as Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas.  We ensure there is a gift for each of the 60 babies who might be in the NICU or Special Care Nursery on these occasions.  

The Mercy's dedicated nursing staff enjoy getting into the spirit of the occasion by helping to distribute our gifts and arranging for tiny hand and foot prints to be placed on the accompanying cards.  This is a great way for parents to remember just how small their little one was in those traumatic, early days.  

Several of our Committee members can speak from their own experience of being in the Special Care Nursery with their own baby or babies during one of these occasions .  We can assure all our donors and corporate sponsors that these gifts are highly appreciated and treasured by the parents who are extremely thankful that someone has taken the time to remember them.
